Dear friend,

In a brazen move, Donald Trump's allies in Congress just jammed through what experts are calling the most destructive environmental bill in American history. Their goal? To bankroll billions in tax cuts for corporate polluters by auctioning off our public lands and bulldozing the safeguards that protect endangered species' habitats.

Here's what's at stake:
-
540,385 acres of public lands in Utah and Nevada—including land right next to Zion National Park—could be sold to the highest bidder. That includes habitat for critically endangered desert tortoises and California condors.

-
The bill forces four new oil and gas lease sales in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, one of the last untouched, wild places on Earth. This move threatens endangered polar bears and vulnerable caribou.

-
It allows corporations to pay extra to skip environmental reviews, override science, and block communities from having a voice—putting every species that relies on public lands at risk.
This is not just about public lands and wilderness. It's about power—and who controls the future of our country.

Trump's billionaire donors and the fossil fuel lobbyists want to lock in profits at any cost.

These lands are not for sale. And the Sierra Club is fighting back with everything we've got.

We're not just making noise—we're building a strategic, on-the-ground campaign to stop this bill in its tracks before it becomes law. But to do that, we need your support now.

DONATE NOW

The Sierra Club is fighting back—but we urgently need your help.
-
We're activating our grassroots Chapter network in key congressional districts to mobilize voters, pressure lawmakers, and show that supporting this bill is a political liability.

-
Our organizers are setting up visibility events outside district offices, coordinating in-district meetings where local conservation voices—like hunters, veterans, small business owners, and Tribal leaders—speak directly to Members of Congress.

-
We're working with local activists to generate earned media coverage—from letters to the editor to op-eds—and launching targeted ad campaigns to expose what's happening.

-
Behind the scenes, we're coordinating with our Federal Policy team in Washington, DC to ensure that every targeted Representative and Senator hears a unified message: Voters are watching. And we will not let you get away with this.

These efforts are focused where they matter most but we can't do it without urgent support.

friend, will you pitch in with an urgent donation today to defend our public lands and wildlife from Congress before this dangerous bill becomes law?

DONATE NOW

We can't outspend the fossil fuel industry—but with people power, we CAN out-organize them. We have the tools. We have the activists. But we need the resources to go all in.

For our lands, our wild places, and every endangered species that calls this place home—please, act now.

In solidarity,

Sierra Club
