Last week, the House GOP took up Trump’s ridiculous quest to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. Yeah, this is what they’re focusing on while quietly trying to take away Medicaid/SNAP funding.

Last week, Mary Gay met with Eastwick residents who traveled to D.C. to demand funding for flood solutions in PA. Mary Gay is fighting hard in Congress to get this addition into the upcoming budget for stormwater management projects — especially since it was already allocated by Congress once and should therefore be a guarantee, but her colleagues across the aisle simply won’t allow it. We’ve made requests for funding, but where the White House returns calls from Republican senators and members of Congress, they haven’t been so willing to do so on the Democrats’ side.

Mary Gay calls out House Republicans as they blocked Democrats from forcing votes on the Trump administration’s use of the texting app Signal. Mary Gay says the only reason for blocking this investigation is that they’re scared to be held accountable. But our national security is not something that should be taken lightly. "They're scared that the Secretary of Defense continues to use unsecure methods to discuss classified information. They're scared that the president's tariffs are wreaking economic havoc. And they're scared that this administration is deporting American citizens and others without due process. And they don't want to take votes to get information from the White House about all of these incidents because that's the real problem, they don't have to risk the wrath of the president if they were to do their job and take votes on getting answers and conducting oversight."

Following a Social Security rally in the city of Chester, Mary Gay fought back against privatizing the post office. This administration is destroying services, resources, and programs that Americans have built their futures on. But Mary Gay is doing everything she can to hold them accountable. "When you privatize a public service, you are no longer making it a public service. Someone's going to get a cut. It's certainly top of mind here in Delaware County, where private equity took over the major hospital system and gutted it for private profit, and now we're struggling to keep a hospital system up and running — similar concerns with respect to the post office."
