John — as the Trump administration steamrolls ahead with climate rollbacks and giveaways to Big Oil, local elections are becoming one of the last lines of defense we have left to fight back.
In exactly one week, we have the chance to elect two local leaders who won’t sit on the sidelines and who are ready to take on the climate crisis.
I’m thrilled to introduce two new JanePAC-endorsed climate champions: Mayor Ed Gainey, running for re-election in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Jorge Sanchez Bautista, running for the Portland Public School Board — and I hope you’ll join me in helping them win.
Can you split a $20 donation between these two incredible candidates today to help power their victories on May 20? [[link removed]]

🌍 Mayor Ed Gainey is flipping the script on polluters in Pittsburgh. He’s replaced lead pipes, electrified the city’s vehicle fleet, and prioritized powering the city with clean energy. He’s made climate justice a centerpiece of his work — ensuring that every community, especially those hit first and worst, is part of Pittsburgh’s green future.
In 2021, he made history as the first Black mayor of Pittsburgh. Today, he’s fighting to keep climate action at the heart of local government. Re-electing Mayor Gainey is about more than one city — it’s about building strong firewalls of local leadership to protect all of us from the Trump administration’s anti-climate agenda.

🌍 Jorge Sanchez Bautista is the youngest candidate JanePAC has ever endorsed — and one of our most inspiring. Jorge is a high school senior in Portland, Oregon, who is running for the Portland Public School Board to lead the fight for climate justice in our classrooms.
He knows this crisis isn’t just about rising temperatures — it’s about the air students breathe, the buildings they learn in, and the uncertain future they need to prepare for. Jorge is the generation that’s both living and inheriting the climate crisis, and he’s already stepping up to lead with bold ideas, clean energy solutions, and real climate education.

Every local win helps build a firewall against the Trump administration’s climate attacks. But these critical races often go overlooked and underfunded, so we rely on people like you, people who truly understand the stakes, to help power their races across the finish line.
Can we count on you to chip in $20 today (that’s just $10 for each candidate)? Every dollar will directly fund their campaigns’ efforts to contact voters and get them ready to cast their ballots in these final seven days. [[link removed]]
