He’s made climate justice a centerpiece of his work — ensuring that every community, especially those hit first and worst, is part of Pittsburgh’s green future.
In 2021, he made history as the first Black mayor of Pittsburgh. Today, he’s fighting to keep climate action at the heart of local government. Re-electing Mayor Gainey is about more than one city — it’s about building strong firewalls of local leadership to protect all of us from the Trump administration’s anti-climate agenda.
