Hi—
Since I sent you this email yesterday, the House Ways and Means Committee released their version of the Republican spending plan designed to bankroll even more tax breaks for big corporations and billionaires.
It’s basically a backdoor, full repeal of the largest climate bill in U.S. history, torching clean energy tax credits that are fueling a nationwide manufacturing boom and taking billions of dollars in climate funding away from American households, workers, Tribal governments, and more.
🚨 With the bill entering the most critical stages of debate before it goes to the full House for a vote, now is the best time for your representative to hear from you. Give them a call right now to protect critical services and programs from getting cut.
Thanks for your continued advocacy, Dani

House Republicans are trying to take billions of dollars in climate funding away from households, workers, disadvantaged communities, businesses, cities, and more. We can’t let this happen.

We need your help now, friend.
We’ve been raising the alarm about Republican plans to attack essential programs like Medicaid, food assistance, and climate, clean energy, and environmental justice programs.
Last night, House Republicans made it official by releasing some of the actual text of their budget bill—which means NOW is the time to act.
The GOP Energy & Commerce Committee released a reckless spending plan that cuts essential, life-saving programs to fund a multi-trillion-dollar tax giveaway for billionaires, polluters, and big corporations.
We read through dozens of pages of bill text, summarized and analyzed the impacts, and have created a way for you to take action to defend these critical programs.

So, what’s on the line?
In addition to their shameful cuts to critical health programs like Medicaid, Republicans are going after at least $6.5 billion in climate and clean energy funding. They’re also abusing the rules of reconciliation by attempting to:
|
|
|
|
|
Repeal Clean Air Act standards that limit the amount of pollution cars and trucks can spew Allow gas pipeline projects to bribe their way out of the normal permitting process with a $10 million payment Repeal cost-saving, pollution-reducing programs like the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, Environmental Justice Community Change Grants, Climate Pollution Reduction Grants, and more

Thank you for taking action today and for being with us in the fight ahead.
Onward,
