Enjoy Free Park Entry Day on Saturday, May 17
It's almost here! Saturday, May 17, will be a prime day to visit Nebraska state parks. On Free Fishing and Park Entry Day, visitors can enjoy any state park area without needing a vehicle permit to get in. Likewise, all fishing regulations still apply, but you won't need a permit to cast a line for the day.
Plenty of fun, free events are planned around the state. Pick one, bring a fellow outdoors enthusiast or two, and enjoy some time in nature!

Trail Trek challenge launches May 17

Launching May 17, this free challenge offers more than 50 miles of trails across the state to explore, plus a chance to win prizes.

Three Game and Parks areas are official 2025 Passport stops
Ever wanted an excuse to finally check out the Cowboy Trail, or to visit a state park that's new to you? Get your wish through the Nebraska Passport Program.
The 2025 program features a a themed tour — "Lasso Lane" — in honor of the Cowboy Trail's [ [link removed] ] 30th anniversary, with seven stops along the trail. Lake Minatare [ [link removed] ] and Windmill [ [link removed] ] state recreation areas are also featured. Add these places to your summer travel plans and go have an adventure!
