Dear Health Advocates,

Late Sunday evening, Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee released their part of the reconciliation bill and, as we've warned, it will slash Medicaid, target the ACA marketplace, and strip coverage from 13.7 million Americans. The Committee will begin markup of this bill today at 2 pm ET and this work should last late into the night.

You can read Families USA's statement on the E&C bill here, along with a section by section breakdown of the specific ways this bill will harm Americans. Markup on this bill will begin today at 2 pm ET and should last late into the night.

Speaker Johnson's goal remains to have the House vote on a final reconciliation bill by Memorial Day. With this ambitious schedule, if the bill gets out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee markup this week, it would move to the House Budget Committee on Friday, the House Rules Committee on Monday, and move to a full House vote on Friday, May 23.
