Wondering why you’ve heard so many lies out of Trump and Musk trying to discredit Social Security?
Musk called Social Security a "Ponzi scheme." They've spread wild, debunked claims about fraudsters in the system. They've laid off thousands of workers who support the distribution of benefits. There's been talk of closing field offices. And the Musk-rats have been digging around in private Social Security data, and we really don't know what they've gotten up to.
Whatever Republicans' motivation – whether it's to ultimately privatize the system, or to enrich themselves using Americans' data – they are making a mess of Social Security. And the stakes are so high for seniors.
Here's what I'm doing:
1) Holding Trump and his people running the Social Security Administration accountable.
2) Working to protect the long-term health of Social Security.
My plan is simple. Have the very wealthiest Americans finally start chipping in their fair share in taxes. If we do that, we'll be able to do more than keep the status quo – we'll protect Social Security as far as the eye can see and have room to increase benefits.
It's time to expand Social Security – not let Elon Musk and Republicans cut it, raid it, or loot it.
