Students were calling for his expulsion, but he was the one attacked.

Dear John,

College campuses have become an epicenter of American antisemitism.

Close to 20% of all antisemitic acts recorded by ADL in 2024 occurred on college or university campuses.*

Jewish students are harassed, threatened and assaulted. Many no longer feel safe on campus and hide their Jewish identity.

When Max courageously attempted to share his perspective on his campus, he was physically assaulted and ended up in the hospital.

As Max describes it: “I got approached by an individual wearing a ski mask...after about four minutes of dialogue...an accomplice of his came up from behind me and struck me on the back of the head multiple times....” He continues, “what was the worst part is that I got up after, and I had other students coming up to me telling me I got what I deserved.”

Wanted posters with Max’s name and face appeared on campus. Students were calling for his expulsion. He was getting death threats every day.

“I got in touch with ADL... because I didn’t know where to turn,” Max said. “The support that I’ve received has just been incredible.”

A shocking 83% of Jewish college students have experienced or witnessed antisemitism on campus since the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks.

ADL supporters like you helped demand justice for students like Max who’ve been assaulted, harassed or threatened.

ADL supporters like you also made it possible to produce our Campus Antisemitism Report Card — which provides students and their families with information about the current state of antisemitism on campuses and grades how universities and colleges are responding.

Bad grades on the Report Card prompted many schools to take meaningful action. Over half the schools initially graded have enacted major policy changes that address rising campus antisemitism. Today, there are schools across the country that are safer for Jewish students, staff and visitors because of the generosity of supporters like you.

These are the type of historic gains supporters like you can make possible.

This is a critical moment, and I am grateful to you for helping to keep Jewish students and Jewish communities across the country safe.
Sincerely,

Jonathan Greenblatt
CEO and National Director
