Another Trump loyalist just joined the race for Governor of Massachusetts.
Brian Shortsleeve - who voted for Donald Trump and chaired Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign - announced his bid for the Republican nomination. His record is clear: he supported policies that threatened health care for seniors and working families, slashed research funding and pushed economic chaos through reckless tariffs. That’s not leadership—it's damage.
Let’s not forget: Brian Shortsleeve left the MBTA in crisis. Under his watch, service declined and safety suffered. Riders were left with breakdowns, slowzones, delays and dangerous conditions. Today, thanks to Governor Maura Healey and GM Phil Eng, the MBTA is free of slow zones for the first time in years. That turnaround didn’t happen under Shortsleeve. It happened despite him.

“Slowzone” Shortsleeve can’t run from his record. He brought dysfunction to public transit and stood behind Trump every step of the way. We can’t afford that kind of leadership in the Governor’s office.
Massachusetts deserves better. Let’s keep moving forward—not backwards.
