BACK IN THE SADDLE!

We hope you had a great off season and are ready for another wonderful summer in the Tetons!

There has been a lot of activity going on at all levels of politics in our town, county, state and country, as you are all very well aware.  In this newsletter, you will find a letter from our new chair, Annette Osnos, a fierce Democrat defending our values and those of Wyoming and its hard working residents.  In addition, some upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and an introduction to our 2025-27 officers.

LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

So excited and glad to be able to help support the democratic efforts in our community. Thank you for the opportunity. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time with ideas, challenges, criticisms or new efforts we should pursue.

I  welcome all of you to be an active participant. Too often people have asked me “What are you going to do to change the dynamic?”...to which I reply “I am not sure yet but I am reaching out to all the people in our community to find out what matters.” Plus I ask them what they are doing.

Just last weekend I met with the Field Representative for Senator Lummis. It was “interesting” how quickly one single anecdote is enough for the GOP to cancel everything. Talk about cancel culture!

Thanks again for your dedication to keeping our community and world a free and kind place.

UPCOMING EVENTS

June 14th- Honor Federal Workers Rally 10:00-12:00
Join us on the Town Square to honor ALL Federal workers. June 14 is Flag Day, so we will be waving those too. We want to make a big deal about how much federal workers contribute to our community's  quality of life.  PLEASE join us.

Teton County Dems Summer Picnic 12:30 PM
Immediately following the rally, join us at Miller Park on the Millward side. We will provide sandwiches, chips and drinks. Come for some great conversation and a chance to gather with fellow democrats.

Fourth of July Parade
Continuing our annual tradition, we will be marching in the town parade. We will assemble by the fairgrounds around 9:30. Plenty of candy to throw and signs declaring how much we care about our community and freedom. Come march with us!  The more the merrier!  Our theme this year is "Honor all immigrants"(including all of us).  More info to come-- let us know if you'd like to participate or help with planning. MEET OUR OFFICERS

Chair:  Annette Osnos

Annette and her husband Noah have lived in Jackson for over ten years where they have both been active members of the community.

Annette volunteers at the animal shelter and fosters dogs for PAWS. She sings in the JH Chorale and is a member of the St. John's handbell choir. In addition, she is an engagement board member at the National Museum of Wildlife Art.  Somehow Annette also finds time to play pickleball and mahjong (and will be teaching the latter at our library this summer). During the pandemic, she helped our community by working full-time at the Covid call center.

Vice Chair:  Orion Bellorado
Orion Bellorado was born and raised in Jackson, He is active in his community and with his family. He is on the Community Foundation Board and helps run Farmstead Cider, Roots Kitchen & Cannery, and Alder Environmental. Orion is also a berry/foraging enthusiast and during the summer can often be found in the bushes like a bear in the wild berry patches wherever they are found. Orion has been Vice Chair since 2023.

Treasurer:  Maggie Davis
A Jackson native, Maggie is happy to continue her time with the Teton Democrats as Treasurer, and help her community in any way she can. When she’s not working her full time job as an Operations Associate at Willow Street Trust Company, she enjoys traveling and being with her friends and family.

Secretary:  Julien Hass
After attending the Rochester Institute of Technology to study Hotel and Resort Management, Julien worked in New York City for several years at various hotels and restaurants. He subsequently worked in the Turks and Caicos, and all over Colorado, before finally ending in the Tetons where he is a chef at the Four Seasons.  A passionate advocate for affordable housing,  Julien is a member of the ShelterJH policy team.  When not working or volunteering with various organizations, you can find him hiking, biking, trail running or even dancing at the Silver Dollar on a Friday night!
