# NEW RESEARCH
# Adult offspring of lesbian parents show psychological resilience regardless of
donor type or contact
A recent report from the
National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study ([link removed])
examines the stability of psychological adjustment among 70 adult offspring of lesbian parents conceived using anonymous, known, or open-identity sperm donors across four developmental stages--childhood, adolescence, emerging adulthood, and established adulthood. Researchers also investigated the impact of donor contact during established adulthood.
Researchers found positive overall adjustment of established adult children, likely reflecting resilience developed by the cohort. Total problem behaviors declined from childhood to adolescence, increased in emerging adulthood, and stabilized in established adulthood in alignment with typical phases of development. Donor type and contact did not significantly impact behavioral outcomes.

# WILLIAMS NEWS
# New report from Trans Inclusion in Sports Seed Grant recipients
In March, Sarah Kaja and Jenifer K. McGuire from the University of Minnesota published an article in the journal
Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport ([link removed]). Their research, supported by a Williams Institute
Trans Inclusion in Sports Seed Grant ([link removed]), examines the associations between participation in team sports, experiences of biased-based bullying, and mental health among transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) adolescents. Results show that experiences of bullying based on LGBTQ status were associated with higher mental health risks for TGD youth. However, participation in sports teams was associated with better mental health for these adolescents.
