Congress is racing ahead with a plan that could decimate Medicaid by slashing a shocking $880 billion from its budget. The House committee responsible is about to decide just how big a sledgehammer it will take to the program – and if enough of us come together right now, we can stop them.

Vulnerable members of Congress are terrified that a vote to kick thousands of their constituents off of Medicaid will cost them their jobs. Widespread outcry already forced the committee to delay, giving us a huge opportunity to stop the cuts for good.

That’s why NDWA brought care workers and care recipients together at a vigil THIS WEEK and is organizing a major lobby day, when we’ll bring domestic workers from across the nation directly to the halls of Congress.

The House vote on the bill is just weeks away, so every single day counts. Will you sign our petition today to build on the pressure from our vigil and urge your representatives to protect Medicaid?

Medicaid isn't just another program – it's a lifeline for domestic workers, their families, and countless others in marginalized communities. Nearly 1 in 3 home caregivers rely on it to provide quality care for the elderly and people with disabilities.

But here’s the thing: gutting a lifeline that quite literally keeps millions of people alive isn’t a popular move and vulnerable members of Congress are feeling the heat.

Thanks to the work of this community and our allies, members of Congress know their constituents deeply oppose drastic Medicaid cuts and are nervous about being held accountable. In fact, a dozen members of the House majority recently warned the House leadership that they won’t back a reconciliation package that includes big cuts to Medicaid.

Will you add your name to keep up the pressure and save Medicaid? We’ll personally deliver the petition – with your signature – straight to our representatives, ensuring our voices and stories are heard loud and clear.

The stakes have never been higher. By taking action today, we can protect essential care for millions, and remind lawmakers they must serve people—not politics.

Thanks for all you do,

The NDWA Team

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
