Yesterday we all won a HUGE victory in the resistance to Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the corrupt tech oligarchs.
Together, we convinced all 47 Senate Democrats to FILIBUSTER the "GENIUS" bill to legalize crypto corruption and money laundering.
It was the huge outpouring from our community - over 46,000 individual letters to Congress from activists like you - that made all the difference.
Democrats.com began our campaign in March after four Democrats (Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Ruben Gallego (AZ), Mark Warner (VA), and Andy Kim (NJ). voted for the GENIUS bill in the Senate Banking Committee - ignoring all the dire warnings from experts about the danger to consumers, our national security, and our entire financial system.
No one was paying attention to THIS bill because there were so many other urgent issues in the news - DOGE's destruction of essential government programs, mass deportations, tariffs decimating financial markets, and so much more.
So we mobilized our 5 million members - including YOU - to send over 22,000 letters demanding a Democratic FILIBUSTER.
Then Republicans scheduled the bill for a final vote yesterday. The only way to stop them was a unified Democratic FILIBUSTER. So we mobilized our members to send another 24,000 letters.
And we also used our powerful social media network - Act.tv - to host an urgent conversation between Senator Bernie Sanders and two leading advocates: Sacha Haworth of the Tech Oversight Project and Corey Frayer of the Consumer Federation of America.
.Democrats.com was the only big group to mobilize our members against crypto - AND WE WON!
Our victory shocked Trump, Musk, and the crypto oligarchs. After all, crypto SuperPACs spent $245 million to buy Senate votes.
But the heart of their strategy was psychology, not politics. They believed Democratic voters were simply too exhausted and cynical to stop them. Together, we proved them wrong.
Of course, this fight is not over. Republicans are guaranteed to push another corrupt crypto bill in the coming weeks.
But we beat them yesterday - so we can beat them again if we keep fighting.
