OCA Announces 2025 National Convention Gala Honorees
OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates will host its 2025 National Convention at the University of Washington in Seattle, celebrating AANHPI history, youth leadership, and community advocacy through engaging panels and special honors
Washington, D.C. — OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates will be hosting the 2025 OCA National Convention from July 24 to 27, 2025, at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.

The theme for this year’s conference, "Passage to Seattle: From AYPE 1909 to AANHPI Rising 2025," honors the rich history of activism and leadership within the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities. This conference will not only celebrate the transformative milestones of the past but also focus on the vibrant future of AANHPI civil rights movements. By emphasizing the crucial role college campuses have played in driving social change, the event aims to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders to continue this legacy of advocacy.

"We are proud to bring the AANHPI community together in Seattle, a city rich in history and diversity," said Thu Nguyen, Executive Director of OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates. "This year’s conference will showcase the evolution of AANHPI history and leadership, and the critical importance of youth engagement in shaping a vibrant future."

The 2025 conference will feature a variety of events, including keynote speakers, panel discussions, and workshops designed to foster leadership and collaboration. Notable speakers and leaders from across the AANHPI community will offer their insights on the intersection of activism, politics, and community development.

OCA is also pleased to honor a distinguished group of individuals whose dedication and service to the AANHPI community have made a lasting impact:
* Douglas Chin, Lifetime Achievement Award
* Chia-Chi Li, Community Builder Award
* Bettie Luke, Pioneer Award

OCA invites you to join us in Emerald City for this important gathering to celebrate the progress made by the AANHPI community and to support the rise of new leaders. The conference is free and open to the public. While RSVP is encouraged to secure your seat, full-package registrations for special events, including the Saturday Night Awards Gala, are available online at www.ocanationalconvention.org.
