Dear John,

At a moment when young Latino voices are needed more than ever, LULAC isn’t just
offering internships—it’s forging a pipeline of future leaders. Through its
highly-regarded and competitive internship program, LULAC's national office
equips students with the skills to lead in public service and advocacy. These
aren’t symbolic roles. Interns are fully immersed in shaping national
debates—from immigration and civil rights to digital access and health equity.

This spring’s cohort is a testament to the rising power of young Latinas—and one
exceptional young Latino—who are boldly driving change. From publishing sharp
analyses [ [link removed] ]
on due process failures in migrant deportations to championing voting rights, to
advocating for voting rights [ [link removed] ] ,
supporting our nation’s Latino veterans, and advancing health equity initiatives,
their fingerprints are on some of the most pressing issues facing Latino
communities today. They bring relentless energy, unwavering purpose, and a joy
that is absolutely contagious.

What makes this program stand out is its intentional depth. Interns are the
engine of LULAC’s policy work—researching, drafting, advocating, and helping plan
our national convention. Through initiatives like the “Espejos y Ventanas”
colloquy, students meet trailblazing Latino leaders who serve as both mirrors of
shared experience and windows into bold new futures. It’s not just about
professional growth—it’s about transformation, forging leaders ready to change
the world.

Since 2023, the LULAC Internship and Fellowship program has graduated 80
students. For our upcoming summer program, we’ve received over 160 applications,
and we are looking to welcome 20 students. These students are a cross-sectional
group representing every part of the country and the best and brightest students
from top universities and colleges across the country.
