Dear Friend,
A hundred days into Trump’s second term, his administration has already announced several plans to strip away critical protections for imperiled species. Here at Earthjustice, we are ready to defend endangered species and continue the progress we have already made.
On behalf of the conservation, fishing, and renewable energy groups we represent, Earthjustice has fought in court for more than 30 years to protect threatened and endangered salmon in the Columbia Basin. [link removed]
During that time, three different federal district court judges declared six different federal dam management plans to be illegal. Each time those decisions were appealed, we won in court. We fought hard to get to this point. Our hard-hitting litigation helped to pave the way for an agreement that sets us on a path toward dam breach and salmon recovery. The federal agencies need to hear that they can’t turn away from that path now—and if they do, we will hold them accountable.
A comment period is now open allowing the public to weigh in on the future of Northwest salmon. Tell the federal government that extinction is not an option. [link removed]
Over the last several years, your advocacy has been crucial in the fight to recover imperiled Columbia Basin salmon. We can’t stop now.
Our federal agencies still need to hear from us. Your voice helps build a strong constituency for salmon recovery. We need the government to develop a new federal plan that will recover healthy and abundant salmon across the Columbia Basin. Take action today. [link removed]
Sincerely,
Amanda Goodin
Senior Attorney
