Dear John,
At WomenHeart, we hear too many stories of women whose heart symptoms were ignored, dismissed, or misdiagnosed. That is why we are launching Treat Me Right, a campaign built to empower women to speak up, advocate for themselves, and receive the evidence-based care they deserve.
What is Treat Me Right?
Treat Me Right raises awareness of the disparities women face in heart care and equips women with the tools to advocate for change—starting in the exam room. From the moment you feel something is off, you have the right to be taken seriously, to ask questions, and to advocate for your health.
How You Can Get Involved:
- Explore Our Resources
Find step-by-step guidance on how to prepare for medical visits, ask the right questions, and feel confident advocating for your care. Follow along with Treat Me Right for even more helpful tools.
- Share Your Story
Whether you were dismissed and persisted or received timely care because you spoke up, your story can inspire others. Share it with others or with us on social media to be part of a powerful community of advocates.
- Spread the Word
Post about the campaign using the hashtag #TreatMeRight, and encourage others to download the guide or explore WomenHeart’s resources.
Because Advocacy is More Than a Moment—It is a Movement
When women speak up, systems start to shift. Treat Me Right is about ensuring every woman is seen, heard, and treated with the respect and care she deserves. We launch next week, so stay tuned for more information and resources. In the meantime, our Virtual Red Bags of Courage offer resources that can change your life.
