John, earlier this week, I reached out to you about the despicable budget package that’s making its way through the GOP-led House.
Financial experts across the field have all agreed: there is NO WAY to get the cuts the GOP wants without touching Medicaid & SNAP. This is the bill, by the way, that Trump named his “big, beautiful bill.”
There’s nothing beautiful about millions of Americans losing healthcare coverage or access to food.
The hypocrisy is baffling. This GOP-led House is the least productive in over 7 decades. They refuse to work with Democrats, they refuse to touch anything that Trump hasn’t given his blessing on, and they refuse to do the job they were elected to do.
And now their first priority is cutting billions of funding for life-saving programs that were promised & allocated to the American people, so they can fund billionaire tax cuts? This is bs.
If you disagree with Trump & the GOP’s cuts to critical life-saving programs, instantly add your name here to let us know.
$880 billion cut to Energy and Commerce programs, which means Medicaid cuts.
- Over 200,000 of my constituents rely on Medicaid coverage — over 80,000 of them are children who might lose their life-saving health insurance.
$230 billion cut to Agriculture programs, which means SNAP benefits.
- Over 118,000 of my constituents rely on SNAP benefits — 50,000 of them are under the age of 21.

This battle is likely to shape up over the next two weeks, so I promise to keep you updated on everything that’s going down. I also promise to work with my colleagues, even across the aisle, to ensure we are doing everything we can to keep the benefits promised and allocated to the American people.
Talk soon,
Mary Gay
