John,
Next week, congressional Republicans are planning committee votes on their plan to slash over $1 trillion from Medicaid and from SNAP nutrition benefits to pay for a renewal of their $5.5 trillion tax scam mostly for the rich, including billionaires and billion-dollar corporations.
But, our resistance is slowing them down. And can eventually stop them.
Because of our activism―sending hundreds of thousands of messages to members of Congress urging them to reject cuts to healthcare and nutrition, and to reject another round of tax handouts to the ultra-wealthy―House committees were forced to push back their votes.
But, even as we’re demanding Congress reject cuts to Medicaid and SNAP to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires, we’re learning that the Trump White House is demanding Congress slash the corporate tax rate again, give a special tax cut to foreign-derived profits, repeal clean energy credits from the Inflation Reduction Act, and create loopholes for the same industries that bankroll GOP campaigns.
Congress needs to hear from the people, not just the billionaire White House! Click here to send a message to your members of Congress demanding they reject a budget that cuts Medicaid and SNAP to pay for a renewal of the Trump-GOP tax scam.
Thank you for demanding Congress pass a budget that uplifts working families, not one that pads the bank accounts of billionaire donors.

John,
House Republicans are advancing Trump’s so-called "big beautiful bill" that does something truly ugly by slashing healthcare and food assistance for tens of millions of Americans, all to fund a new round of Trump’s tax cuts mostly for the rich, including billionaires. Medicaid, which provides health insurance for 70 million people, faces up to $880 billion in cuts. SNAP, the program that feeds over 40 million people, could be cut by $230 billion. And why? To bankroll $5.5 trillion in tax breaks that will mostly go to the ultra-rich and large, profitable corporations.[1]
The full scope of this tax scheme is even more disturbing than we thought. White House communications show that Trump’s demands include slashing the corporate tax rate again, giving a special tax cut to foreign-derived profits, repealing clean energy credits from the Inflation Reduction Act, and creating loopholes for the same industries that bankroll GOP campaigns.
It’s a brutal tax agenda written by billionaires, for billionaires, paid for by taking food and medicine away from working people.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t about balancing budgets, it's about redistributing wealth from working families to wealthy Wall Street donors. The GOP is pushing red-tape reporting requirements for Medicaid and SNAP, not because they improve lives or prevent abuse, but because they will result in millions of eligible people being kicked off of these programs in order to “save” money. That’s money they’ll then hand to the richest 1% in the form of permanent tax giveaways.
This right-wing budget would leave children hungry, working families uninsured, seniors without funding for assisted living, and communities stripped of critical services, all while billionaires add another yacht to their fleet. And they’re hoping the public won’t notice.
But we’re not looking away. We’re organizing, mobilizing, and fighting back because we’ve stopped them before. And we’re slowing them down now. Thanks to public pressure, they’ve already delayed committee votes on Medicaid, SNAP, and permanent tax cuts for billionaires. Now we have to turn up the heat.
Write to your members of Congress today and demand they reject any budget that cuts Medicaid and SNAP to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires and large corporations.
The Trump tax cuts from 2017 didn’t “pay for themselves.” They added nearly $2 trillion to the national debt while padding the pockets of hedge fund managers and stuffing the coffers of mega-corporations―money that was then used to further enrich investors, not invest in workers and their families.[2]
Now, instead of admitting failure, the GOP wants to double down on their tax scam―paid for by cutting the healthcare and nutrition benefits of working people.
They’ll tell you that Medicaid and SNAP are “bloated,” “unsustainable,” or “rife with fraud.” That’s a lie. These programs are lifelines, not luxuries. They keep food on the table, prescriptions filled, hospital visits from turning into bankruptcy, and allow seniors to afford assisted living facilities. Slashing them means more hunger, more suffering, more preventable deaths.
We cannot let them normalize cruelty. Congress must let the Trump tax cuts expire and raise new revenue by making the wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share. That’s how we protect Medicaid, strengthen SNAP, and build a future where every family can thrive.
Our activism is working. Let’s keep going. Raise your voice. Write to Congress today and tell them to oppose cuts to Medicaid and SNAP to pay for tax cuts for the rich.
Together, we can stop this cruelty.
