Take Action: Tell Congress to Vote NO on the SAVE Act
advocate,

We have an urgent ask regarding an upcoming vote on the HR 22 Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act that is quickly approaching the Senate floor.

This bill, which seeks to enforce stricter requirements for new and returning voters to provide legal documentation of citizenship, creates barriers for voters across the country. In addition to being based on misinformation about voting regulations, the SAVE Act:
* Perpetuates dangerous myths about immigrant communities
* Amplifies xenophobic rhetoric under the guise of election security
* Creates additional voting barriers for many groups, including:
+ Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities and other communities of color
+ Married women or anyone who has changed their name
+ Nearly half of all Americans who do not have a passport
+ Many more who may struggle to access or produce specific documentation

For these reasons and more, we call on you to contact your senators TODAY and DEMAND that they stand with OCA National by voting NO on this bill, which would disenfranchise AANHPI voters across the nation. We have included a sample script for easy use below.

📞 Call Script: Urge Your Senator to Vote NO on the SAVE Act

Hello, my name is [Name]. As a constituent from [city, state], I am calling to urge [SENATOR NAME] to vote NO on HR 22: Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, or the SAVE Act, which will disenfranchise Asian American, Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities like mine, who already face barriers to accessible voting.

We do NOT need more restrictive policies that fail to consider our long history of exclusion from our democracy. Will [SENATOR NAME] commit to voting NO on this dangerous and harmful bill?
