** Protect the SNAP Program

** Earlier this week, HFA staff members and Food Action Board members attended the FRAC Anti-Hunger Policy Conference in Washington D.C.
------------------------------------------------------------
** As part of the event, our team visited lawmakers on Capitol Hill, urging them to fight against proposed cuts to SNAP and WIC. Our FAB members spoke about their struggles with food insecurity, and about the importance of food benefit programs.

** Spring Into Hope
------------------------------------------------------------
Spring is a season of growth, healing, and new beginnings. But for millions of families across America, hunger remains an everyday reality — made worse by rising costs and looming threats to the programs that help them survive.
This is why all the work that Hunger Free America does — from connecting families to SNAP, to advocating for better federal nutrition policies — is so critical right now.
Last month we launched our Spring Into Hope ([link removed]) campaign, to ensure families don’t face this crisis alone. Your donation will fuel direct outreach, elevate the voices of people facing hunger, and help us protect the programs that keep food on the table for millions.
This is our season to fight. Please donate today.

** This month, we are thankful for our nearly 1,000 strong group of volunteers who help fight hunger in their communities across the country. We thank them for their service, dedication and passion to help end hunger.
We are also grateful to our nonprofit partners for providing meaningful opportunities, and to our corporate partners, who engage their employees in the fight against hunger through volunteerism

** In the News: Hunger Free America

** Summer EBT Will Be Back!
------------------------------------------------------------
The Summer EBT program (also known as SUN Bucks) will be back! Just like last year, families will receive $40 per month per eligible child – a total of $120 for the summer – on an EBT food benefit card. These benefits, combined with other federal nutrition programs including SNAP ([link removed]) , WIC ([link removed]) , and summer meal sites ([link removed]) , help ensure children’s access to healthy food while school is out.
Currently, 38 states have applied, and been approved, for the 2025 Summer EBT program
If your state is not on
the list ([link removed]) , contact your governor and demand that your state state opt into Summer EBT in 2026!
