Dear John,

The start to this year has been so positive for animals and the fight for their freedom, but there is still so much to do.

But some positive news shows that change is happening. A recent
YouGov poll has revealed around half of Britons (49-53%) say it is unacceptable to keep bears, wolves, elephants, big cats or great apes in zoos. This is a huge shift in public attitudes towards zoos and a huge step forward in the fight for animals.

Thanks to you we can be here calling captivity out for what it is, cruelty and exploitation - not conservation!

Ending circus cruelty

We are starting to see circuses, who exploit animals, take to the road. If you see one in your area, please report it to us:

Camel racing to be featured at Todmorden Country Fair. Join our action asking that this cruelty be left out of the show.
Todmorden Country Fair

We recently launched an action against Todmorden Country Fair, West Yorkshire. They plan to have a day of camel racing, a bird of prey show and a mobile zoo, and our action has seen nearly 800 people take part to oppose this.

If you haven't had a chance to sign yet, you can do so here: www.freedomforanimals.org.uk/stop-wild-animals-tod-country-fair

We are also hoping to have an update for you soon on South Lakes Zoo AKA Cumbria Safari Zoo plans to move site.

We have been waiting for the decision to come through from the council who are deciding whether to grant the zoo planning permission; however, the decision keeps being delayed. Over a thousand of you have used our form to oppose the plans, so let's hope the council have listened and we get some good news!

The kindness and generosity we receive from our supporters like you is overwhelming and keeps us pushing forward. We are on this journey together and with you by our side, we won't stop until all are free.

For the animals,

Laura Walton

P.S. If you are able to, please send a gift today so we can keep being here helping to free animals from exploitation and a life of misery in captivity. Thank you.
