Rural Organizing Is Rising in Oklahoma — And We Need Your Help

Rural Democrats are inspiring proof of the commitment and resilience of Democratic power in Oklahoma and across the nation.

Through a partnership with Contest Every Race, the Oklahoma Democratic Party has worked with our county parties to apply for ‘Campaign Everywhere!’ grants that will empower local Democratic leaders with the resources they need to organize year-round in Rural America.

This initiative represents a significant $12 million dollar investment in grassroots power-building.

16 Oklahoma counties took ownership of their organizing and applied for the grant:

On May 9th, we’ll know which of our counties received a grant, and will be ready to hit the ground running with our local partners.

Regardless of who receives a grant, the Oklahoma Democratic Party is determined to expand the reach of organizing statewide, not just in urban areas, because we know that when we organize everywhere, we can win anywhere.

We’re not stopping with the grant program though.

OKDEMS is launching a historic fundraising campaign to support a second round of support for small-town power-building.

These funds will enable us to provide consistent help strengthening county party infrastructure, recruiting passionate candidates, and engaging with voters in communities that haven’t seen Democratic outreach in over a decade.

This is a crucial part of our strategy to reclaim our state: by organizing everywhere, not just in traditionally Democratic strongholds.

National funding may remain uncertain, but our resolve to leave no small town or community behind remains committed, strong, and resilient.
