Commerce seeks feedback for draft guidebook on rural lands
Feedback is due by May 23
The Department of Commerce is asking for input on draft guidance designed to assist counties in developing the rural lands element of their comprehensive plans.
The draft Rural Element Guidebook is available for review until May 23. Comments can be submitted through an online form.
The draft guidance aids counties with rural planning requirements under state law.
The Growth Management Act requires most counties in Washington to include a rural element in their comprehensive plan to help define and protect rural character.
Once finalized, the Rural Element Guidebook will assist counties through the process of creating and updating their rural lands element.
