Friend, our national parks and public lands are
among our nation's greatest legacies-but today, they face
serious threats.

This week the administration released its 2026 federal budget
blueprint. The proposal includes more than $1 billion in cuts to
the National Park Service and the removal of sites from the National
Park System.

This would be the most severe budget cut in the Park Service's
109-year history, undermining American treasures that Congress
intended to preserve for current and future generations. Congress gets
the final say in our federal budget. Urge lawmakers to protect and
invest in our National Park Service!

National parks are more than scenic landscapes and historic
sites-they are vital economic engines, climate buffers, and
community connectors. They generate $55 billion annually for local
economies and support 400,000 jobs, many in rural and underserved
communities.

Americans love their national parks and overwhelmingly oppose funding
cuts and closures of public lands. Friend, tell
Congress to protect what matters and invest in the future of our
national parks.

At TPL, we've helped expand the National Park System by more
than 65,000 acres, while protecting public access, because we believe
these places are too important to lose. Thank you for standing with us
to protect our nation's heirlooms and invest in the future of
our national parks.

Sincerely,

Myke Bybee
