A MESSAGE FROM OUR NONPROFIT PARTNER,
TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE FOUNDATION (TPWF)

The May issue of "Texas Parks & Wildlife Magazine" pays homage to the myriad birds that touch down and take root in Texas. And for more than 30 years, Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) has been batty about birds, too.

With spring migration in full swing, Texas’ endless skies provide the perfect backdrop to hundreds of species of birds on full display. Vibrant wildflowers and grasslands mark the flight path along the Central Flyway and provide flocks of migrating birds with temporary shelter and sustenance while hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies are hard at work pollinating the plants and crops we all depend on.

TPWF is committed to supporting all of Texas’ wild things, wings and all. With the help of our supporters, TPWF and partners have restored over 83,000 acres of vanishing grassland habitat for grassland birds like quail, meadowlarks, and countless other native birds, reptiles, and critters. We’ve also conserved over 7,100 acres of pristine barrier habitat along the Matagorda Peninsula, a bustling seasonal home to a remarkable array of wildlife and marine life, from nesting sea turtles to trophy red drum and speckled trout, to resident and migratory shore and wading birds.

TPWF is able to support the tens of thousands of native animal and plant species within Texas because of the support we receive from our members, but our work is never done.
