1) Unleash Prosperity Now Hits the Airwaves

While Congress continue to wrangle the votes to pass the Big Beautiful Bill, the Left has voted in lockstep to support the largest tax hike in American history - a fact everyone should be aware of.

The New York Post reports on Unleash Prosperity Now’s (our 501 (c)(4) partner organization) campaign efforts:

A pro-Trump group is running ads in 10 swing House Democratic districts across the US -- including those of Rep. Laura Gillen on Long Island and Josh Riley in the Hudson Valley -- to push tax-cut extensions...

Unleashed Prosperity Now was founded by Stephen Moore, an economic adviser who helped craft President Trump's and the GOP's "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act" of 2017, which expires at year's end...

Moore said Democrats in swing districts have to be held accountable for votes that would raise taxes if the 2017 reductions are not renewed.

He expects to expand his group's tax-cutting-ad campaign -- which already runs into the six figures -- to keep the pressure on lawmakers.

2) The BIG Lie of Medicaid "Cuts"

You've heard it over-and-over: the GOP budget plan guts Medicaid and will lead to the closing of rural hospitals while pregnant women lose prenatal care.

Sounds heartless but none of this fearmongering is true. The people who will be kicked off the rolls are those who are scamming the system and INELIGIBLE. The plan is like kicking a passenger who doesn't have a ticket off a plane. And Medicaid spending rises every year under the plan, just less than the Left would prefer. More money for fewer people is the opposite of a benefit cut.

It is hard to know exactly how many total ineligible enrollees there are now because Biden ended eligibility audits. But one good way to approximate it is to compare the number of people who qualify based on income in the Census data, with the number of Medicaid enrollees.

Bill Hammond of the Empire Center did that for New York and found that the likely number of ineligible enrollees is in the millions just in that one state:

Nearly 40% of the total population of New York and California is now on Medicaid, which was supposed to be a safety net program for the most needy. But now, Medicaid is becoming a back door government takeover of the health care system.

3) Is Britain Going Trumpian?

The Labour Party has been running Great Britain for the last 10 months and is deeply unpopular over its failures to create economic growth, control illegal immigration and to end policies that make it nearly impossible to build new housing. (Sound familiar?)

The first local elections giving voters a chance to vent their frustration against Labour were just held, and Labour got wiped out.

The BBC reported that if those local results were extrapolated to a national election, Labour would have been crushed and tossed from power, getting only 20% of the vote.

The winner would have been the upstart, populist, Reform Party, led by our good friend Nigel Farage. It would have formed a new government with a national share of nearly a third of the votes. It would have been followed by Labour (20%), the Liberal Democrats (17%), and the Conservatives at only 15%.

The Conservatives (which don't stand for much of anything these days) lost control of every local council they were defending.

Britain's Daily Telegraph reported, "In years to come, it might just be that today's election will be remembered as the beginning of the end of Westminster's two party system."

Now we just need to make sure that Trump doesn't propose making Britain the 52nd state!

4) If Canada Won't Be the 51st State, Why Not Alberta?

Speaking of adding states, why not conservative Alberta?

When newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited Washington this week, he predictably told Trump that Canada is "not for sale." Trump had a polite but droll response: "I say never say never."

But the real Canadian news this week was that Alberta, the energy capital of Canada, will hold a referendum in 2026 that's likely to include a vote asking people if it should separate from Canada.

[link removed]

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she doesn't support separation, but believes its five million people should voice their opinion about the "hostile actions" of their federal government.

Justin Trudeau's anti-fossil fuel measures made Joe Biden's "Green New Deal" look like vanilla pudding.

Polls show only about a third of Albertans now favor separation, but they also find that more than half of younger Albertans don't believe its economy is better off as part of Canada.

Alberta is an energy powerhouse with rich deposits of fossil fuels. Canada's National Post says the current Constitution "is explicitly rigged to diminish Alberta's electoral and senatorial power...Our heavy funding of the rest of Confederation seems to earn us nothing but contempt from central Canada."

If Alberta leaves Canada, America should welcome it with open arms. What's not to like?

5) Yes to More Investor Immigrant Visas

Now that Trump - and his phenomenal border czar Tom Homan - have reduced the flow of illegal immigration by more than 92% in just three months (was that REALLY so hard?), it’s time to expand visas for the immigrants that we want and need.

Trump wants a merit-based immigrant visa system and we’re all for it. He’s suggested a “Gold Visa” for anyone who is willing to pay up to $5 million to obtain a U.S. passport. If we were to allow in 10,000 a year, this could raise $50 billion a year for the Treasury and these expatriates will come and save and invest their money here. What a deal!

This should be an add-on, not a substitute for the EB5 program which awards green cards to investors who invest a minimum of $1 million on these shores.

[link removed]

Since 2022, nearly $5 billion of EB-5 capital has been spread across more than 25 states, with much of the money going toward projects in rural and high-unemployment areas. The Visas have added 233,000 jobs in urban high-unemployment areas and more than 194,000 in rural jobs.

Has there ever been a better way to soak the rich?
