Dear Friend,

Here it is in black and white… the leaked FY26 budget draft eliminating federal funds for LGBTQ+ youth suicide.

Who knew 14 words could put so many lives at risk?

I want you to know: the only funding targeted from this suicide prevention program was money dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth

It’s a targeted attack on the lives of our young people, who already face significantly higher suicide rates than their peers. And it leaves them with one clear message: “Your lives are not worth saving.”

For the last four years, federal funding for LGBTQ+ suicide prevention has been approved by Congress with bipartisan support. These funds made it possible for Trevor to respond to half of the nearly 500,000 requests for help we got last year. Eliminating it from the budget will put hundreds of thousands of LGBTQ+ youth at greater risk of suicide.

Friend, we can’t do this work alone.

That’s why we’ve launched an Emergency Lifeline Campaign. I need your help today to ensure no lives are lost if this funding is eliminated.

DONATE NOW

By making your first donation to Trevor at this critical time, we can continue to protect and support LGBTQ+ young people in the face of any funding losses. And together, we can secure the future of Trevor’s crisis services and other life-saving programs.

Thank you in advance for your support.

With gratitude,

Janson Wu

Vice President of Advocacy & Government Affairs

P.S. The words might feel like jargon but their impact is crystal clear: we can’t count on the federal government to protect the lives of LGBTQ+ youth. I hope we can depend on you. Please become a supporter today with a special gift to the Emergency Lifeline Campaign. We’ve never needed you more than we do right now!

my life.” ~ Tyler (he/him)
