John, as the mom of three girls in Virginia's public schools, a graduate of them myself, and the daughter-in-law of a lifelong Virginia educator, I know firsthand the transformative power of teachers.
Today, on Teacher Appreciation Day, I'm going to tell you about a teacher who is near and dear to my heart. But first, I have a quick request:
Will you sign our card to thank Virginia's teachers and tell me about a teacher who changed your life?

Señora Green was my ninth grade Spanish and world studies teacher.
Looking back, she didn't just teach me how to conjugate complicated verbs. She taught me to love languages. She built up my confidence. She believed in me, and in turn, I believed in myself.
That's what great teachers do: they shape the next generation.
Now, if you haven't already, won't you take this small step to show Virginia's over 100,000 educators just how much they mean to us?
Sign our card to thank Virginia’s teachers and, if you’re willing, share a story about a teacher who made a difference in your life!

As the next Governor of Virginia, I’m going to make sure our teachers have the support they deserve — because every dollar we invest in them is an investment in generations to come.
Thank you for showing your support,
Abigail Spanberger
