All students deserve access to a fairly and fully funded public education.

Team,

Last week, the Supreme Court heard a case that could radically reshape public education — and not in a good way.

In Oklahoma, a proposed religious charter school is challenging what should be a clear line: Public dollars should fund public schools. Period.

One of our Groundwork Project partners, the Oklahoma Parent Legislative Advocacy Coalition (OKPLAC), was a leader in this fight. They stood up on behalf of parents, public school advocates, students, and rural communities across the state — and across the country.

If this school is allowed to operate on public funds, it won’t stop there. Other religious charter schools will follow, and they’ll all be pulling from the same limited pool of money that’s supposed to support our existing public schools.

At Groundwork Project, we believe that every student, no matter their zip code, income, or faith background, deserves access to a fully and fairly funded public education. That’s why we support the grassroots leaders and local coalitions like OKPLAC, who are fighting this battle where it matters most.

This case is national, the threat is real, and the time to act is right now. Will you chip in today to help Groundwork Project support grassroots partners and protect public education?
