![]() John, This anti-forests bill was just introduced in the U.S. Senate.1 The so-called Fix Our Forests Act doesn't fix anything -- it puts mature and old-growth forests on millions of acres at risk of reckless logging projects. A similar bill has already passed the U.S. House, so it's incredibly urgent that we stop this bad forests bill from moving forward.2 This bill wouldn't help our forests -- it would roll back vital protections for endangered species and accelerate reckless logging projects. Under the guise of forest restoration and wildfire prevention, the Fix Our Forests Act would undermine core environmental protection laws. While this bill does attempt to address the threat of wildfires to communities, it also allows nearly unlimited logging, imperils endangered species and makes it significantly harder for community groups to defend their local forests.3 We support science-based and practical solutions to address wildfires. We don't support unchecked logging in the name of "fixing" forests. We need to stop this tree-killing bill. Take action today to stop the Fix Our Forests Act before it's too late. Thank you for speaking for the trees, Ellen Montgomery |
