Take a moment to connect in these times of turmoil and resistance.
Friend –
Our rights and democracy in D.C. are facing real attacks today. But here's the thing: D.C. knows how to fight back, and we are not backing down.
In the first 100 days of the Trump administration, <[link removed]> the ACLU-D.C. has filed nine legal actions, advocated for D.C. democracy, trained over 250 people on their rights, and responded to over 500 civil rights and liberties violation complaints. Since day one, our message has been loud and clear: we are prepared to protect D.C.
In times of turmoil and resistance, it's important that we take a moment to come together. That's why I'm inviting you to join me at the ACLU-D.C. Bill of Rights Celebration. It's our biggest event of the year, where we gather to celebrate our resilience, our wins, and the people who make it all possible.
ACLU-D.C. Bill of Rights Celebration
Join us for a special social hour honoring outstanding people defending civil rights and liberties in D.C.

At this year's celebration, we are honoring David Cole (Former ACLU National Legal Director), Jay Brown (community activist and organizer), and 2020 racial justice demonstrators (courageous people who defended their rights) with awards.
At the celebration, we're also unveiling a photo series uplifting trans people and their families – sharing their stories of strength, joy, and resilience. In the face of political attacks, sharing real stories is a powerful way we can overcome fear.
As always, thank you for your support. I hope to see you on Tuesday, May 13.
Sincerely,
Monica Hopkins
