Dear John,
At a time when both Islamophobia and antisemitism are surging, establishing meaningful, values-driven alliances is not just timely—it’s urgent and essential. That’s why we are honored to welcome Maggie Siddiqi as a Non-Resident Fellow at MPAC. In this role, she will lead our initiative to strengthen Muslim-Jewish partnerships–anchored in our shared commitment to justice, human dignity, and preserving democracy.
Maggie brings a wealth of experience in building alliances, faith-based organizing, and strategic advocacy. She currently serves as a senior fellow at Interfaith Alliance and will apply her research and learning from the fellowship to this role. She also works as a consultant specializing in faith-based advocacy for social change, coalition-building across lines of difference, and public policy on religious freedom, and efforts to combat hate. Most recently, she concluded her appointment to the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Education, where she served as Director of the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Maggie Siddiqi previously served as Senior Director of the Religion and Faith team at the Center for American Progress, where she led the organization’s work on religious liberty and built coalitions of diverse faith leaders to advance progressive policies.
Prior to that, Siddiqi spent nearly a decade working with national organizations serving American Muslim communities. She has a master’s degree in Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations from Hartford Seminary and a bachelor’s degree in religion from Wesleyan University. Siddiqi also earned graduate certificates in Islamic Chaplaincy from Hartford Seminary and in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
Through this initiative, we are laying the foundation for a unified voice that boldly confronts the forces of hate that impact both of our communities. This initiative is a critical step toward healing division, countering extremism, and inspiring shared action that sparks real, lasting change.
Please join us in welcoming Maggie to the MPAC team as we begin this transformative work.
In Service,
Haris Tarin
Vice President of Policy and Programming
