The Senate is standing up to stop the SAVE Act in its tracks, John.
Defenders of voting rights know that non-citizen voting is already illegal, extremely rare, and that this bill is written in a way that could disenfranchise millions of eligible women across the country. Here's Colorado Senator Michael Bennet:

Opponents of voting rights in Congress -- and in the White House -- favor this bill because they know it could suppress millions of eligible voters, changing the composition of the electorate and potentially empowering them and their party for years to come.
Please, John, join these brave Senators today. Fuel our efforts to stop this dangerous legislation with $25 or whatever you can and ensure millions of women's voices continue to be heard in our elections >> [[link removed]]

We know the SAVE Act was fast-tracked by opponents of voting rights to be in place before the next election, John. This bill is a stunning assault on our fundamental right to vote, and we can not afford to let this anti-democratic legislation become law.
If you missed it: This bill would force every voter to present proof of citizenship to register, either a passport or a birth certificate that matches their current first and last name -- something millions of eligible American women don’t have. And that’s the point.
The bill would also obliterate popular methods of voter registration for all voters, including:
* Registration by mail
* 3rd party voter registration drives
* Online voter registration in states that allow it
* Automatic voter registration
Some estimates say that this bill could disenfranchise anywhere from 11 million to 65 million eligible Americans , especially women and those who live in under-resourced communities.
“ There’s never been an attack on voting rights out of Congress like this ,” said Alexander Keyssar, a professor of History and Social Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, and a leading historian of voting rights. “ It’s always been the federal government trying to keep states in check on voting rights, for the most part. ”
The consequences of a bill like this passing would be simply catastrophic for our democracy. Chip in with $25 or whatever you can today to stop the SAVE Act and other voter suppression bills from becoming law >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
