Dear John,

Last month, shortly after Tax Day, the Trump administration announced that
the federal government would stop offering Direct File, which let
taxpayers file with the IRS for free.

I championed this program in Congress, because it made government work
better for everyday Americans.

This is another one of Trump’s cuts that doesn’t help anyone except his
cronies.

It’s doubly offensive when we also consider how his cuts to the IRS have
let more tax cheats get away with not paying what they owe—to the tune of
half a trillion dollars collectively.

It seems like that’s what this Trump presidency has been all about:
hijacking government to work great for Trump and his allies, at the
expense of working people.

As long as Trump continues to hurt families, I’m not backing down. I’m
going to continue calling out the BS and keeping you informed.
