Tomorrow, I’m heading to Palm Springs, right into the heart of Republican Congressman Ken Calvert’s district. Since Donald Trump took office, Calvert has gone silent, hiding from the very people he was elected to represent. I refuse to let him, or any Republican, off the hook. So I'm bringing the fight directly to his backyard.
For more than 100 days, Trump and his administration have attacked the foundations of our democracy. Republicans in Congress are nowhere to be found. They know just how angry their constituents are, and they’re doing everything they can to avoid accountability.
But I won’t back down.
While in Palm Springs, I’ll also be standing in solidarity with local activists and labor organizers to celebrate May Day. In this moment, it’s more important than ever to lift up the labor movement and protect the right to organize. The Trump administration is trying to undo decades of hard-won progress for working people and we can’t let that happen.
If you’re in the Palm Springs area, I hope you’ll join us. Whether in person or through your support, we need everyone to keep showing up and demanding better.
