Dumb & Comer: How Stansbury and Lynch Turned a MAGA Meltdown Into a Masterclass”
Poor Jimbo-Billy-Bob Comer (R-KY). By this I mean the 1960s-Mississippi-Burning-effigy who plays a Republican “Representative” got exactly what he deserved in committee recently. This man who spent God-only-knows-how-much money chasing pics of Hunter Biden’s penis—as Gimp to his Dominant, Donald Trump [ [link removed] ], in a pathetic, politicized attempt to harm Joe Biden politically—was flailing, interrupting, whining & launching spittle rockets more durable than SpaceX (not that hard, tbh [ [link removed] ]).
To sum it up, the Chair of The House Government Oversight Committee, who presumably knows the rules re not interrupting committee members during their *time* to speak, just kinda felt like being an asshole. It’s what happens when one tries to defend cutting over $4 billion from VA health care [ [link removed] ]. Yes, veterans, those who risked their lives for Comer’s right to recite Putin talking points on command. Comer even mocked the $4B number like it was nothing, all while Trump’s charged [ [link removed] ]US [ [link removed] ]$26 million, so far, for golf [ [link removed] ]. The tip of Trump’s corruption iceberg.
Also, and I know this will SHOCK(!) you to your very core, but The Clownship Comer was so unprepared for the hearing, it was downright second-hand embarrassing [ [link removed] ]. At one point during this Democratic tour de force, rising star, Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM,) crushed colic Comer like a MAGA-voting farmer. Hell, he looked so lost I thought he might request a lifeline [ [link removed] ]. Or ask if he could call a friend.
Yes, James Richardson Comer, Jr. was the kid who forgot his book report, so he couldn’t let Democrats speak, lest they share facts and cite studies to which he’d have to coherently respond. Yet, speak Democrats still did. Result: cretin-Comer got just clobbered by Stansbury [ [link removed] ]. But, hey, we’re not done yet! Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) also wanted in on the party—providing a one-two intellectual punch that transformed Comer the pudgy dingus into a MAGA mascot [ [link removed] ] at a Mensa meeting.
Jimmy-Boy, who perpetually looks like he’s about to demand a refund at a Cracker Barrel, tried trotting out his usual conspiracy-laced nonsense, only to have Stansbury calmly nuke it with facts, and Lynch follow up like a political bouncer [ [link removed] ] escorting him back into reality. I could share the bigger wallops, but thar wouldn’t do the tone of creepy Comer’s beatdown justice. Below’s the video in all its schadenfreude-y glory:
It was, as truculent Trump The Inept [ [link removed] ] might say "the most beautiful hearing anyone’s ever seen!" Though it was less hearing, more civic autopsy, exposing conman Comer’s entire schtick as bad-faith performance artist. A Kentucky Fried fool, equal parts Fox News audition [ [link removed] ] and drunk uncle you seat in the corner at Thanksgiving.
Key to this, as we know, this behavior becomes a virtuous cycle. Example: Leader Hakeem Jeffries would not have responded to oleaginous ogre, Ted Cruz, in this manner as recently as a year ago. But, as Deadpool would say, we’ve hit “Fuck It.”
And before the cynics say this doesn’t matter, blah blah blah—all of this MATTERS. When you treat the arguments of those who operate in 100% bad faith as legitimate and actually debate them, you render them legitimate to the viewing audience. When you mock them mercilessly and tear them a new one, you send a very opposite message [ [link removed] ] about who’s authentic, will use their power and won’t back down.
Courage is contagious. So is cowardice. The more Republicans are wrecked in front of cameras [ [link removed] ], we protest in huge numbers [ [link removed] ], Democrats filibuster, go on more tours to speak to audiences across the country about Trump’s unique combination of incompetence, cruelty & corruption, televise shadow cabinet meetings with popular policy proposals, propose legislation on said policy—the more we win. At this point the entire GOP agenda is poison, their messengers even worse. We just must step into the breach, project confidence, message every single damn day and take control of the narrative.
We do this, the electoral blowouts headed our way this year and next will be epic. (more on this in a coming column I’ll be co-authoring).

Remember how I warned you about Trump’s percolating plan to have a military style parade you’d see in the old USSR [ [link removed] ], The Junta in Argentina or Charles Taylor’s Liberia, to pick just a few? Yeah, well more plans just leaked about his “no, I’m not really flaccid” birhday celebration. We don’t do that in this country, because we’re a democracy who celebrates the country, not the man. July 4th? Sure. For ye old orange trollop’s b-day? Absurd, outrageous and NOT what democracies do.
You’ll wanna pay close attention to Gov. J.B. Pritzker of Illinois if you aren’t yet. He’s met this moment. And is proof that while most billionaires suck, there are a few great ones in the bunch (Mark Cuban [ [link removed] ] too). Pritzker’s made one courageous speech after another, comparing Trump’s actions to those of the Nazis and warning us to be prepared and get busy fighting.
This, below, is from a speech in New Hampshire (hmm…early primary state):
“It’s time to fight everywhere and all at once. Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now. These Republicans [ [link removed] ] cannot know a moment of peace. They must understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have.”
