First Liberty Institute’s Kelly Shackelford Appointed 

to President Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission

During a ceremony celebrating National Day of Prayer, the President signed an executive order creating the Commission. With Kelly as one of its members, First Liberty will be the only nonprofit legal organization of its kind on the Commission.

School Reverses Course, Will Allow Students

West Ward Elementary School in Allegan, Michigan initially wouldn’t allow two students to perform songs by Christian artists Brandon Lake and Colton Dixon. Less than 24 hours after First Liberty sent a letter, the school responded favorably.

We argued in state appellate court on Wednesday. Ohio Attorney General David Yost’s office was at the hearing with us and argued in favor of our client. We expect the Ohio Court of Appeals to issue a ruling in the coming weeks.
