You’ve probably been hearing a lot this week about Trump’s 100 days in office, John. They’ve been the most harmful 100 days of any administration for climate, clean energy, public health, conservation, and beyond.
For this somber milestone, the Climate Action Campaign put together a tracker for this administration’s 100 (and counting…) harmful acts against the environment. But here’s the good news: for each climate transgression carried out by Donald Trump, SEEC has a pro-climate champion fighting back in Congress.
Our ranks are 100-strong, with members representing communities across the country. They’re working around the clock to block, oppose, delay, and disarm the administration’s relentless attacks on the healthier, more sustainable future we all want.
These are just a few of the Trump administration’s attacks in the first 100 days:
Reopened US coastlines and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to offshore drilling
Proposed a budget to eliminate NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), which would cut funding for climate, weather, and ocean research
Directed the Attorney General to identify and stop state-level laws that address climate change and pollution
Claimed that automobile emissions don’t affect the environment
Invited waivers from fossil fuel power plants on mercury pollution and other toxic pollutants under the Clean Air Act
Announced plans to dismantle 31 federal air quality and carbon pollution regulations
Canceled funding for the US Global Change Research Program, which publishes America’s National Climate Assessment
The clean air and water, conservation of public lands, and accelerated climate research that our nation enjoyed before Donald Trump was not built by a single president or member of Congress. Environmental progress was made by pro-climate actors on every front, all working toward the same goal.
Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe.
