Dear Friend,

You don’t celebrate May Day - you organize it.

Today is International Workers’ Day - May Day. Workers have always been on the front lines in the battle for democracy. Whether federal civil servants or restaurant workers or teachers or delivery drivers, our coworkers embody resiliency and flex solidarity. We stand with them.

This May Day comes at a moment when DC and our nation are weathering unparalleled attacks on our autonomy, our liberties, and our ability to join together. A short list of specific attacks include: massive public sector layoffs, ending public sector bargaining at the federal level, disappearing migrants from our communities, preventing DC from spending $1 billion in locally raised funds, and an Executive Order to increase policing and immigration enforcement in the District. Each attack weakens democracy and foreshadows what is to come for the rest of the nation.

SUPPORT SOLIDARITY ON MAY DAY

At DC Jobs With Justice, we've always believed multiracial solidarity is the antidote to corporate greed and corrupt political systems.

We are standing in the breach with our siblings across the District to resist the right wing attacks against all working people. We are leaders in the fightback, bringing people together to access their rights and demand better. We showed up at the Senate to demand our billion dollars, we stand in solidarity with workers and immigrants, and we network all our fights together through Defend DC.

This May Day, we ask you to support our solidarity work of training, mobilizing, and acting for working people. Help us continue to lead in these critical moments to stand with all working people who stand to lose as billionaire bullies attempt to take over our country, starting with Washington, DC.

GIVE NOW

In solidarity,
