Ever since you elected me to serve IL-17, national Republicans and their special interest allies have been working aggressively to flip this seat. And the guy they’re lining up behind, my GOP opponent, is capable of self-funding his campaign, and he’s already invested in this race.

Now look, I don't believe money will be the only factor in winning our race, but an early challenge means we’ll likely begin seeing GOP attacks sooner rather than later. We can’t get caught off guard.
