Dear John,
On Day 1, the Trump Administration launched its assault on the trans community. Attacks on trans healthcare research and access, dismantling protections for LGBTQ+ youth in schools, erasing the mere mention of trans people from our nation’s history, and a stream of misinformation and lies spread by officials in the highest levels of our government—you name it, we saw it.
“Since January 20, the Trump administration has been on a mission to undermine well-established civil rights protections for people across the nation, to turn their values of hate, violence, and segregation into the official policies of the United States.” — Olivia Hunt, Policy Director
Now, on Day 100, let’s take a look back at all we’ve accomplished.
For the same 100 days, we have witnessed a surge of resistance from local leaders and movement partners. Team A4TE has taken decisive and swift public action on Trump’s anti-trans efforts, and we’re deeply proud of the incredible work that’s been accomplished :
➡️ An in-depth, two-part analysis and report out [[link removed]] on impact of Trump’s executive orders on the issue of trans healthcare
➡️ 35+ anti-trans legislations defeated in states across the nation. States like: Montana, South Dakota, Utah, and Ohio faced anti-trans extremists' attempts to strip us of our rights, and we beat many attacks.
➡️ Collecting comments and preparing work on the changes to HHS rules impacting trans shelter access.
➡️ 1000s of people joined us live to watch our Testifying Guide [[link removed]] , a comprehensive way to make your voice heard on issues impacting the trans community.
➡️ Endorsed a critical bill from Representative Balint , to advance the health and well-being of transgender individuals at all ages.
➡️ Filed an amicus brief for Mahmoud v. Taylor on behalf of organizations representing LGBTQ+ Muslims.
➡️ Completed oral argument in support of Anna Lange, for Lange v. Houston Co.
Our collaborative movement is strong... 92,000+ comments gathered in support of protecting trans healthcare, the thousands of digital actions spreading key resources and all supported through small donations like yours.
Can we count on you for the next 100 days and beyond? Donate today to help us combat harmful state bills, build critical resources, and tackle legal challenges facing the trans community. [[link removed]]
