Dear John,
The first hundred days of a new administration is a good time to pause and reflect on where we stand. The stakes are high, and politicians in statehouses and Congress are trying to rig the system with new voting laws and restrictions.
It’s a serious assault on our democracy, which was created on the principle that power lies with the people.
VoteRiders has been racing to protect our precious democracy and the right of all eligible voters to have a say in who governs us. In the past 100 days, the VoteRiders community has come together to: -
Flood the US House and Senate with 23,409 messages against the SAVE Act, a dangerous voter suppression bill that would stop millions from registering and voting.
-
Speak up at the state level, sending 525 messages to Florida legislators about a bill that would require difficult-to-obtain documents in order to register and vote.
- Present expert testimony to the Texas legislature against harmful bills that would require documentary proof of citizenship to register and vote.
Every member of the VoteRiders community has a role to play in the work ahead. If you’re able, please make a gift to power this work and ensure we have the necessary resources to power the movement to protect the right to vote. |
