As we collectively mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and countless others killed and injured for no other reason than the color of their skin, we must stand in solidarity with Black and Brown communities in our regions and around the country.

While we struggle to find the words to express our sadness, anger and frustration, one thing is certain: silence is not an option. When there are national news stories that involve incidents of bias and injustice, young people want to be part of the conversation. We know that it can be challenging as a parent or an educator to address these issues, but there are age-appropriate and constructive ways to engage young people in understanding these situations.

ADL’s Mid-Atlantic/Midwest Division invites you to attend an interactive webinar on Discussing Race and Racism with Young People on Tuesday, June 16 at 1 p.m. ET. During this session, participants will discuss recent current events, connect them to historical examples of racism, receive guidance on how to discuss this with young people and learn how to take action in their own lives.
