The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission has finalized all hunting seasons and license quotas for 2025-2026. Some species, hunt areas and season dates were significantly changed during the season setting process.
Many deadlines to apply for licenses, and to modify or withdraw applications, are approaching. Game and Fish encourages all hunters to review the updated regulations.
April 30 — Deadline to apply for moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat and wild bison.
May 8 — Modify/withdraw deadline for nonresident elk applications.
May 8 — Draw results tentatively available for moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat and wild bison.
May 22 — Draw results tentatively available for nonresident elk.
June 2 — Deadline to apply for deer, antelope and resident elk.
June 2 — Deadline to apply for for fall turkey, LQ trapping, LQ crane and Springer.
June 19 — Draw results tentatively available for deer, antelope, resident elk and fall turkey.
Shed antler season has arrived for some parts of the state
It’s spring, and shed and horn hunting has kicked off for antler enthusiasts. But before venturing out, be sure to know which lands are open. Many sections of public lands, state lands and wildlife habitat management areas in western and southern Wyoming remain closed to shed antler and horn collection.
Game and Fish tests more than 5,000 samples for CWD in 2024
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Wildlife Health Laboratory tested 5,276 samples for chronic wasting disease in 2024, and 726 came back positive — 13.7% statewide — and saw CWD prevalence for mule deer increase throughout the state.

This year’s forum serves as a platform to discuss Wyoming’s most critical conservation issues, while fostering a comprehensive exchange of ideas among the state’s leadership, stakeholders and conservation groups.

Concerns from the public varied throughout regions. From predator management to CWD research and habitat loss, commenters provided their insight into mule deer management in the areas they live and hunt, and offered suggestions for solutions to key issues.
