On April 5, millions of Americans in over 1,200 cities and towns came together in a powerful, nonviolent show of patriotism, using their freedom of speech to demand that political leaders respect the rule of law, uphold constitutional checks and balances, and stop dismantling protections for workers, consumers, communities, and the environment. The gatherings also served as a call to all Americans to defend the nation's core values and resist the destructive policies of President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk.
Another day another dangerous executive order. This time Trump’s targeting civil rights protection and enforcement practices that have been in place for more than 50 years. Titled Restoring Equality of Opportunity and Meritocracy, this executive order is aimed at a principle called disparate impact which has become a legal staple in this country.
