John — I recently sat down with author John Green to talk about the state of our democracy, the future of health care, and how we can rebuild from the damage caused by Donald Trump and his administration.

“There’s no understating the seriousness of what we’re facing right now. But we’ve gone through world wars and a 100-year pandemic, and we will survive this too. But there’s lasting damage being done right now. It’s going to take us time to come back from this and rebuild.

But I have every confidence that one day we’re going to look back on this. We’re going to ask ourselves, ‘How in the hell did that guy ever become president of the United States?’ The only question is, how quickly we can get there, and how much damage we suffer along the way.”

That’s why I’m in this fight, John. Because we’re living in unprecedented times — where our basic rights are under attack, our institutions are being eroded, citizens are being deprived of due process and spirited out of the country, and right-wing extremists are openly threatening our democratic way of life. Some MAGA supporters are even floating the idea of a third Trump term.

But we don’t have to accept this as the future of our nation. We can fight back, protect our democracy and the rule of law, and ensure that no one — not even Donald Trump — is above the law.
