John,

My name is Nathan Sage, and I am the Democrat running for U.S. Senate against Republican Joni Ernst here in Iowa.

I was raised in a trailer park. Growing up, that got me called a lot of hurtful things. And when you hear something said enough times… Well, it’s easy to almost start to believe it yourself.

My family didn’t have much money. My dad worked at the factory, and my mom was a daycare teacher. I never imagined a better life until one day a military recruiter came knocking, promising that I could maybe one day graduate college.

So in 2003, I joined the United States Marine Corps and served two deployments in Iraq. And when the Army offered me a $6,500 sign on bonus, I went back for a third one. After I left the military, I worked nights to help support my family while my GI Bill benefits paid for me to attend college. And thirteen long years after graduating high school, I finally got the degree I had dreamed about.

I wish I could explain what it would have meant to 17- or 18-year-old me to know that one day he’d hang that piece of paper on his wall. To tell him that one day, he’d not only have a college degree, but be running to represent Iowa in the United States Senate.

I’m running for U.S. Senate against Republican Joni Ernst here in Iowa because while we both took an oath in the military to protect the constitution against all threats – foreign and domestic – only one of us seems to remember it.

In her last election, Joni Ernst won reelection with less than 52% of the vote in one of the closest Senate races in the country. And in 2026, we are going to send her packing and turn Iowa blue – but I need your help to do it.

We need to raise another $10,000 before midnight tonight to fight back against Elon Musk and all of the billionaire Super PACs, and right now, we’re still very short. If I am going to defeat Joni Ernst and flip this Senate seat blue, I am counting on grassroots donors like you to give right now.

Please, will you split a donation between my campaign and The Majority Rules right now to help me defeat Republican Joni Ernst, turn Iowa blue, and take back the Senate for Democrats? I’m not taking money from corporate PACs, so no amount is too small. [link removed]

Winning here in Iowa is the only way Democrats have a shot at flipping the Senate in 2026, so please, do not wait to make a donation.

I am so incredibly grateful for your support,

Nathan Sage

The Majority Rules is a coalition of concerned citizens like you, fighting to end partisan gerrymandering and ensure fair elections. We're focused on making sure everyone who's able to vote, can vote. We use your donations to promote state and federal candidates and initiatives across the US to achieve fair elections.

This year is going to be huge in the fight for fair elections! We have seen that voting rights and the integrity of our elections continue to be under attack. Some candidates and organizations have continued to use shady, undemocratic tactics to suppress voters. It's time to fight back!
