National Domestic Workers Alliance

============================

John: For 42 days, longtime NDWA member and activist Jeanette Vizguerra has been in an ICE detention facility.

On March 17, she was ripped from her children, grandchildren, and community and detained by ICE without warning . She now faces deportation to Mexico after 30 years of building her family and community in the U.S.

Her family is doing everything they possibly can to secure her release. They traveled to Washington, D.C. to join our National Assembly and meet with members of Congress, courageously sharing Jeanette’s powerful story.

Together, we can show Jeanette’s family that they are not alone. Will you add your name and send a powerful message that Jeanette Vizguerra belongs with her family, her community, and her movement?

For years, Jeanette spoke out fearlessly, protecting families from separation and advocating for policies that honored every immigrant’s dignity and rights. Now, it’s time for all of us to do the same for her.

Jeanette’s supporters in Denver have tirelessly kept up the pressure for her release, and last week they held a vigil outside the Aurora ICE facility where she was detained. At the vigil, Jeanette shared remarks with attendees via a phone call, confirming she was in good health.

Her strength speaks volumes and resists the fear and silence her detention aims to instill in our movement. Families and communities should not be cruelly torn apart, and we are urging you to join us in amplifying Jeanette’s voice by standing with her and her family.

Add your name to call for her immediate release.

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
