John, this administration just made it even harder to stop attacks on your right to vote.
Just hours ago, Trump’s appointees at the Department of Justice, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, purged the entire leadership team of the DOJ’s voting section – the career experts whose job it was to make sure every American can vote safely and fairly. [1]
The voting section is responsible for everything from stopping illegal voter purges to protecting ballots for servicemembers overseas, defending election officials from threats, fighting voter discrimination, and so much more.
And it gets worse: They also ordered every active voting rights case to be dismissed – no hearings, no review of evidence, and no explanation. Cases challenging voter suppression, discrimination, unfair maps – all gone.
This isn’t “draining the swamp” or making elections "safer," like Trump promised. It’s a direct attack on your right to make your voice heard and hold politicians accountable. And it gives states a green light to pass even more extreme anti-voter laws without fear of federal oversight.
That means less power for you, John, and even less accountability for them.
That’s why Common Cause is leading the charge to protect and expand voting rights at the state level. We’re securing major victories in state legislatures, blocking anti-voter bills, and pushing reforms that make our democracy stronger.
We are showing up in the streets, in statehouses, and in court to defend the most sacred right in our democracy. Because elections belong to We The People.
This isn’t just a battle in Washington, it’s a nationwide fight – defending our voting rights at every level of government. But how much work we can do depends on you.
We’re up against a coordinated, deliberate attack — and we can’t let up for a moment. John, will you chip in $3 to help support our work across the country to defend and expand voting rights?

We’ve won these fights before. We know what it takes. And with you by our side, we can do it again.
We appreciate your support,
The team at Common Cause
